The client brief

Honesty cooked into every design

Sopraffina brings freshly picked, locally selected, and sustainable food to the Chicagoland fast-casual marketplace. Each Loop location does their part to save the planet through their dedication not only to reducing waste but increasing taste. When it came time to do a complete brand overhaul, we knew that sustainability was our focus. Adding touches of the farm into the interior reconcept, bringing awareness to what Sopraffina’s mission was. We created unique iconography and patterns to bring personality to the brand and stand out among their competitors. Then, took it to the streets to tell all of Chicagoland that Sopraffina was jammed packed (full of nutrients) and ready to serve you.

The strategy

To the Loop lunch crowd, Sopraffina was “just another” fast casual restaurant. When really, they aren’t. We needed to gather up those Loop lunchers and rally, capturing a new crowd of eaters and show them what Sopraffina’s got. Kick-ass food and a mission that can stand up regionally and nationally against all other chains.

Our solution?
Create a brand new and exciting aesthetic that appealed to the new workforce: millennials. We focused on creating something fresh and tasty but still stuck to Sopraffina’s warm and rustic color palette reflecting their commitment to sustainability and local foods. By creating a signature script for a new approachable logo, Sopraffina would accomplish an informal, personal touch that is inviting to both new and old lunch-goers.
